Subject: Queensland to celebrate NAIDOC throughout November in 2020
Across the country NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held from the 8-15 November 2020.
The NAIDOC theme this year 'Always was. Always will be.' recognises that First Nations peoples have occupied and cared for this continent for more than 65,000 years and invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country.
Here is snapshot of signature NAIDOC initiatives across Queensland:
Prominent landmarks in Brisbane, Toowoomba, Mackay, Cairns and the Torres Strait will be lit up throughout NAIDOC week in the colours of the Aboriginal flag and the Torres Strait Islander flag in celebration of the week. Be sure to post your photos on deadly stories Facebook and Instagram.
Check the NAIDOC calendar for celebrations and initiatives scheduled across Queensland. If you are hosting an initiative, be sure to register on the calendar.
